EP Review: Revoid – Evergrey (Self Released)
Alternative metal/metalcore band Revoid will release their sophomore EP, ‘Evergrey’ on July 19th, 2024.

Released in April 2022, Revoid’s debut EP ‘Sleepless Still’ set a high bar for them, creating an irrevocable connection between the listener and the band. All because the alt-metal group delivered something that oozed relatability, honesty, and showcased a heady hit of earnest melodic metal.
This follow-up continues to strengthen that connection, while proving that Revoid are growing as a band. Providing an EP stuffed with feeling and expanding upon their alternative metal and metalcore sound. First, with the powerful Everything, where the focus is on the more melodic side of things, so when the heaviness hits, it really freaking hits. Then, with the bouncy intensity of Visionary, Revoid spitting some real barbs here both instrumentally and vocally but getting melodically grand in the chorus.
Two highlights already, and so much more to come.
Revoid then delve into poppier territories with Let You In, offering up something that is quite mournful sounding, even as it rocks up. Then smash some heads with the raging Euphoria, bring back a more anthemically pleasing sound with the energy bursts of Nevermind, before ending the EP in grand melodic style with Fray. Each track adds extra layers of style and substance to the Revoid sound. It’s ear-pleasing stuff but has a lot of heart and soul to it as well.
It’s another strong EP.
