Horror Short Review: Easter (2024)

Happy Easter, ACMofficial have a ‘killer’ film for you to enjoy. Written and directed by Alex Magaña (as always), the devilish short stars Elodie Kreys, Julien Kreys, Lars Eric Joehnk, and Tiffany Kreys.

Two young kids, Riley and Jasper are stuck indoors on Easter watching the rain come down and lamenting the lack of an egg hunt. Their mother has gone to the store, so when a plastic egg mysteriously appears behind them, they think she is back and setting up a hunt for them.

They’re very excited, and eagerly start collecting the eggs in their baskets, unaware that they’re the ones actually being hunted.

A fun horror short with some solid acting and a great looking villain. The ACM shorts that have a bit of a tongue in cheek feel are often the best, and this is a good example of that. Where else could you get a killer who uses a carrot to stab a kid? Delightful sound effect included?

You won’t be scared by it, but how many Easter themed horrors have managed that? What you will be, is entertained. Especially with the gleefully dark final scene. Check it out yourself, below.
