Single Slam: We Are Sovereign – This Farewell Is Our Fate (Re:imagined) – Exclusive Early Review

Released on September 4th, 2023, ‘Step Out Your Comfort Zone’, is the latest album from British metalcore mob We Are Sovereign. An album that saw the band stepping up in so many ways, delivering something that was more anthemic, more relevant, and more intense than ever.

While a band like We Are Sovereign exist and put out music like this, no-one can ever truly feel alone.

This is important because We Are Sovereign connect to their listeners in ways many other bands can only dream of. The album is filled with moments of deep feeling and unarguable authenticity, and one such track that hits hard is ‘This Farewell Is Our Fate (Heartbreak)’. We Are Sovereign at their most beautiful, and chaotic sounding.

Now, the band reimagines the track. Offering up an acoustic version called ‘This Farewell Is Our Fate (Re:imagined)’. It’s the first acoustic track We Are Sovereign has done as a band and the first track released with Laura clean singing on it. The track, alongside a video, will be released on June 20th, 2025.

Well, I’ve heard the track and it gives me so much pleasure to tell you that it’s stunning. Heart-wrenchingly beautiful, with deep rivets of morose melody, powerful vocals, and ever-increasing ion. It’s a side to We Are Sovereign that I’m not surprised to hear, as they’re a band with plenty of heart and soul, but to hear them like this is still something else. Here’s hoping this isn’t an one-off, especially as it is so damn anthemic too.
