EP Review: War Honey – All You’ll Ever Be Good For (Self Released)
War Honey, the Brooklyn-based alternative rock band will release their much-anticipated third EP, ‘All You’ll Ever Be Good For’, on June 8th, 2025.
Wow. Just wow. War Honey’s new EP is truly something special, and so much of why that is the case comes from the staggeringly good vocals. Immensely powerful, downright theatrical, and dominating throughout. I can’t say enough good things about the singing here, and while it is one part of what makes this band enjoyable, it’s a big bloody part.
Call ‘em alternative if you want, but War Honey are quite undefinable and the two tracks (plus an atmospheric intro – This Time It Will Be Different – and outro) show off an incredibly developed and varied musical palette. From the heightened drama, post-rock melodies, and lavish detail of My Little House, to the emotionally captivating and sobering The Ballerina, to the haunting outro of Behind the Glass, you will feel something.
One of the most creative records I’ve heard all year.
